More information on www.light-building.messefrankfurt.com LIGHTING – Europoles delivers floodlighting the world-famous Holmenkollen ski jump As part of modernization of the oldest ski-jump in the world – the Holmenkollen complex near the Norwegian capital of Oslo – Europoles delivered the lighting system. Six floodlight masts, between 32 and 43 metres high, now provide an illumination system suited for TV broadcasts, as well as an overall symmetrical lighting pattern. Despite the great variations in the terrain elevations, the mean light-source heights of the respectively opposing masts are exactly the same. Owing to substantial public interest in modification of the complex, the contracting parties placed great importance on the selection of the pole providers, and on their experience and references. From the very beginning, Europoles supported its customer in this project, and assured reliable execution of the project – which meant a bonus of security for the customer.

POWER – Prototype of a vertical wind-power system is installed In Braunschweig, Germany, Europoles has installed the prototype of a vertical wind-power system. In addition, three additional systems, each with 5 kW, have since been already installed. These soundless vertical systems can be used for many and various purposes: for example, for generation of power for heating and cooling plants. With such systems, the operators will not be affected by rising energy prices, and will contribute to conservation of valuable resources and environmental protection by reduction of CO2 emissions.
TRAFFIC – runway approach-lighting system for the airport in Zweibrücken The installation of two Europoles flash-lighting systems for the runway approach at Zweibrücken Airport in the Palatinate district of Germany, has aided in upgrading the airport from Category I to Category II for instrument landing systems (ILS). As a result, the airport can serve more aircraft than before. Europoles produced the poles as hybrid products: the lower parts of the 20-metre masts are folded-steel polygonal masts, and the upper parts are made of glass-fibre-reinforced plastic (GRP). Beginning at the middle, the masts are tiltable and can be easily serviced from the work platform installed there – without interfering with air traffic.
