Surface-treatment technology

With its acquisition in mid-2008 of the company Merckx Oberflächentechnik, in Werl, Germany, Europoles has expanded its services and products portfolio in the fields of surface-treatment and coating technology. The new company, now doing business under the name Eurocoatings, occupies a leading position in surface-finishing and coating for steel poles in Europe. Powder coating: effective protection and outstanding

Powder coating is the all-around finish technique among advanced painting options. It offers numerous advantages over other coating methods:

• Environmental friendliness, since it contains no solvents and emits no volatile organic compounds (VOC)
• Recycling of the powder that is not applied to the workpieces
• Great cost effectiveness, since up to 98% of the powder is in fact used
• High quality of the coating, since there is no running or formation of bumps or drops on the coating
• Ruggedness and durability as a result of superior mechanical properties and top weather resistance
• Huge selection from more than 3,000 different colour and structure effects
• Flexibility of application, since a great number and variety of requirements can be satisfied: e.g., anti-graffiti and self-cleaning effects
• Good suitability for large production batches, as a result of fast and flexible colour changes
  

Our surface finishes conform to the requirements of corrosivity category C1 (insignificant demands) to C5 (very stringent requirements), in accordance with the following currently valid DIN standards:

DIN 12944 (wet painting) and
DIN55633 (powder coatings)

This conformity can be attested by certificates issued by the German Institute for Corrosion Protection (IKS).

 

Special-effect painting

Eurocoatings is also an expert for special-effect painting and special coatings. The colour spectrum of advanced powder coating goes far beyond the RAL colour pallet. The extensive colour diversity at Eurocoatings includes RAL, Sikkens, as well as NCS and BS.
In choosing colour and finish, you are faced with a great range of selection possibilities.
